Wellness Wednesday with Lauren
These days it seems like there is so much information out there in regards to health, that it has become overwhelming and most people just don’t even know where to begin in their journey.
Every person has different genetics, food intolerances, body shapes, health conditions and goals, so there is no one-size-fits-all program.
Sometimes the best thing to do is just take it back to the basics, and focus on the 5 Pillars of Health:
- Balanced Diet – Eating a variety of foods and consuming less salt, sugars, and saturated fats.
- Water Intake – Drink half your body weight in ounces (ex: 150 lbs ÷ 2 = 75 ounces).
- Regular Physical Activity – 30 minutes of intentional movement a day
- Stress Management – When in a stressful situation, it is helpful to think to the 4 A’s when trying to decide how to handle it: Avoid, Alter, Adapt, Accept.
- Maintaining Regular and Adequate Sleep – Helpful to create a consistent sleep schedule and routine, and get at least 7 hours of sleep a night.
If you use this as a starting point for your health journey, then you can make specific modifications as your start seeing results to further your progress.
