AARON & HAYLEY GABRIEL
Being raised in the arts by her father, Stephen Shortridge, a nationally acclaimed artist, Hayley Shortridge-Gabriel followed in her father’s footsteps and became a professional artist in 2005 selling her fine art in galleries from California to Florida.
Hoping to offer her creativity beyond the traditional canvas she decided to apply her skills in fine art to the human canvas and that’s when her business True Life Canvas was formed. Hayley received her certification in permanent cosmetics from Permanent Cosmetique International based in San Francisco, California established in 1989.
In 2012 and again in 2019, Hayley received the coveted title of “Top 30 Under 40 Business Professionals” by the North Idaho Business Journal. She’s been featured in numerous publications, podcasts and has been asked to be a speaker at multiple industry conferences. Because of Hayley’s extensive background in fine art, she is precise at creating a naturally beautiful look customized to your satisfaction.
Whether Hayley is working with a person or a canvas each application is executed with precision and detail. Regardless of the application, colors are hand picked and blended to achieve the perfect shade the client is looking for. So… Do you want just anyone to tattoo makeup on your face? Permanent Makeup Artist / Trainer
HEIDI KLEIN
Heidi was born and raised in the North Idaho panhandle, where she grew up on her family’s homestead farm in the woods of Harrison outskirts and graduated high school a year early to pursue an education in cosmetology. She graduated from Headmasters School of Hair Design in early 2007 with a license in esthetics, nails &, hair (full cosmetology).
She quickly found her niche in creative/fantasy color and color corrections, and would eventually specialize in color formatting and mixing ratios in order to color correct, perfect tones, and customize for her clients.
Heidi has worked in salon management, and has independently run her business as a booth renter for the past 9 years, and enjoys a full edgy, loyal, and lovely clientele. She is also certified in numerous extension techniques, color correction services, and additional color theory. Heidi has extensively trained with six different color/product lines and worked at Ulta closely with brand ambassadors &trainers for over a year.
She has been professionally trained in event makeup and application, facial morphology & bone structure mapping, as well as brow & lash tinting, waxing, full esthetics, nails, and all hair services. Heidi has worked extensively in the modeling industry, specializing in makeup for photoshoots & had functioned in many capacities in that corner of the industry as well, keeping consistently current with trends and demographic influences. All in all, she has well over 15 years of experience in the beauty industry & its ever evolving landscape.
Heidi has one child; Quinne, who is a 10yr old Art creator & avid Pokémon fan. They both enjoy hiking, camping & general outdoor activities the in the warmer months & explore PNW together. They reside in Hayden with their two cats; Bowie & Freddie Mercury & their many plants & shelves of books.

SHANNON SHIBLEY
Shannon has been in the cosmetic dermatology industry since 2010, receiving extensive training in all aspects of advanced aesthetics. However, it was after becoming an Allergan certified injector in 2011 that she found she had a passion for the artistry of cosmetic injections. The desire to create noticeable, natural looking improvements is what drives her. She considers her best work to be a result that restores or enhances an individual’s natural beauty – Results that the patient notices, but no one else has to know.
In Shannon’s spare time, family is everything! She has a young son and daughter, and the world’s best husband! Together they enjoy camping, morel hunting, traveling, spending time on Hayden Lake in the summer, and skiing in the winter.

RACHAEL VAN VALIN
Rachael has been a Registered Nurse since 2010, working at the Valley Hospital in Spokane for years as a Medical/Surgical RN. In 2019, Rachael shifted gears and started her training in medical aesthetics. She loves to help clients achieve natural looking results and refresh and enhance their natural beauty. She has a passion for making people look and feel their best by providing a customized and individual plan for each client! Rachael is committed to continuing her education, and is always learning and studying new techniques and procedures so she can feel confident about delivering the best results to her clients!
She enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 kids, fishing, hiking, and exploring beautiful North Idaho. She is the co-founder of Village of Hope CDA, a non-profit that supports the local foster care community and social workers and loves to volunteer there in her spare time!

KELLY DUARTE
Kelly is passionate about personal health and wellness, and she loves helping people feel their best. She is a licensed cosmetologist and after many years in the beauty industry, True Life Canvas was a natural fit. Kelly also enjoys being a part of our students’ journeys as they discover their passion and start their careers in permanent makeup.
Growing up in North Idaho, she enjoys spending time in the outdoors, camping, and boating with her husband and two young children!

TYLA SKIDMORE
Tyla has been perfecting her craft in the aesthetics industry for over 15 years. She knew from a young age that she wanted to work in the beauty industry and help women look and feel their very best. She’s passionate about healthy aging and embracing the true beauty within each of us. She is an established aesthetician who has worked in many facets of the industry.
When Tyla is not hard at work, she loves to spend time with her family. As a north Idaho native, she gravitates to the outdoors and loves boating, camping, and traveling around the northwest.

REESE SARFF
Reese is the friendly face at our front desk and manages the day-to-day for our clients and staff. She is a licensed esthetician and also trained at True Life Canvas Academy in permanent cosmetics before joining our team. She enjoys getting to know our clients, helping them feel great about themselves, and being a listening ear who can answer any questions you may have.
She was raised in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and enjoys spending time with her family at Priest Lake. Reese is a proud Mama who loves doing anything surrounded by her children, her boyfriend, and his girls.
